PARCEL PEASURE AND MORE

When I ordered a crochet pattern and yarn from the UK I thought it would take longer than the usual 7 to 10 days seeing that Easter was in the middle of it all. Nope! I was pleasantly surprised to receive it on Wednesday.

I am quite eager to start this new baby blanket as my daughter is now past the half way mark and I have no idea where that time has gone. I only just finished this other baby blanket  a few minutes ago which I have decided to gift to my daughter's sister in law who is due with her first baby the same month as my munchkin number 2.  I  decided to crochet 2 rounds of the border as I thought any more may be a bit too much.

My little quilt is coming along nicely and I am piecing the last block. Hopefully I can piece it all together over the next few days .

I am looking forward to another parcel arriving from the UK with some more luscious yarns for Lucy's ( Attic 24) new "Dune blanket". Hmmm, I wonder when I will get around to making a quilt for munchkin number 2.

Thankyou for visiting.

Angel Blessings.

YEY!

I finished my little handpieced quilt top.

Impatient me couldn't wait to start another little quilt while I was on the final stretch of the last one. So, I now have another lf done.

A bit of happy dancing is happening here but I still need to decide how I am going to hand quilt them and what backing fabrics to use. I also need to design labels for them. Here's hoping I don't put it off for too long.

EASTER STITCHING

I thought the Easter break would bring some peace to my neighbourhood but power tools are buzzing, car radios are blarring and hammering has not ceased. I think it is party time for the holiday neighbours across the road and it seems like there is no real peace in sight so I just have to keep calm and stitch.  I decided to have a little Easter display with little things I have picked up here and there over the years and placed on top of a decorated tea towel I made a few years ago.

A lovely parcel arrived for me during the week from my dear friend,  Jenny.  It seems that my birthday is still happening. A beautifully gift wrapped pressie was inside.

Oh my! Jenny makes and designs the most lovely things and this needle keep is  so pretty.

Munchkin couldn't keep his hands off it and it took some convincing to get him to move so that I could take a pic of the inside .

I have made further progress on my little hand pieced quilt. 3 sections have been stitched  and ironed ready to piece together. I can now see the pattern emerging.

With the above quilt nearly finished( although I have yet to consider how I will hand quilt it), I couldn't resist starting another one which is only 8 1/2  x 121/2.

Temptation got the better of me and I have ordered 2 crochet projects from the UK.  One is a baby blanket for munchkin #2 who is due early September and the other one is Lucy's new Dune Blanket ( Attic 24) . I love the crochet pattern she has created which looks great both sides. I won't be making a large one but I still ordered the 15 balls of Stylecraft  Specisl DK because I love crocheting with this yarn and can make many more things with the leftovers. Anyone would think I love to crochet! Hehe.

Many angel hugs and blessings.

BACK TO STITCHING

I didn't do any stitching for several days after I returned home from Qld. Household tasks and feeling poorly left me quite unenthusiastic . Once I picked up a needle and thread again I was on a roll.

I love this cute little owl design I bought from Jenny's ,( Jenny of Elefantz) , selection of ever so sweet patterns. I decided to use a beautiful Cottage Garden thread aptly named 'Peacock'.  I am thinking that I might frame it after sewing fabric borders onto it but I may come up with another idea. What I don't want to do is put it away for later as I know it will never get finished if I do that. Out of sight out of mind!

I have hand stitched the last 2 rows of my little quilt, sewn the top 4 rows together, and am in the process of stitching 2 rows together as you can see. It is pleasing to see the pattern emerging.

I have perservered with the crocheted baby blanket but I still don't really like it. I have spotted a lovely pattern and yarn in a newsletter from a UK shop so I might be a little tempted to buy it. I still have plenty of time before munchkin number 2 arrives.

As usual the weather is up and down here which is not kind to my FMS. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to rest. I know some of you are currently battling
with health issues so I send you many angel healing hugs.

Angel Blessing.

HOME AGAIN

After a brief 6 days up north I returned home to discover these beautiful flowers awaiting me from my lovely hubby. ( I later found a tiny Lindt bunny amongst my bottles of vitamins).

A book I had been waiting for had arrived and I am just waiting for a quiet time to relax and flick through it.

It was my birthday while I was away so I was thrilled to receive a lovely
parcel in the mail yesterday from my dear bloggy friend, Barb.

I had my munchkin here yesterday and I am looking after him today as well. I really missed him so I have enjoyed his heart melting smiles, giggles and cuddles. So, I haven't had a chance to relax and unwind since coming home Wednesday afternoon.  I haven't done any stitching to show you but I do have 2 hand pieced little quilts on the go and 2 little stitcheries. Hopefully, I will have some pics of my progress soon.

Angel Blessings.

SANITY STITCHING

Twelve months ago my mum broke her hip playing table tennis and I had weeks of hospital visits to assist my dad to. Well, almost a year to...
