We are in the 2nd week of autumn , had no summer during actual summer apart from less than a handful of warmer days, and now another couple of hot days are ahead. They have even cancelled the Moomba parade tomorrow for the safety of performers and the crowd. I love summer but not the possibility of fires or the rowdy impatient tourists down here. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">It has been good getting back to some stitching and I have started another crosstitch. I found a Homespun magazine stashed away with this crosstitch design and during my sewing room cleanup I also found 2 packs of 16 ct Aida in a tin. So, I got organised and started the crosstitch using my chosen colours. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSusWfJ8wEc6pmjrS6ezIZGTt0u0RBICKkuWJXX8T6ZKQbMa1NhF33UXDpbJ84woNAcF5lXrDedmrnE7VZIDu-vyjfci2h6YeGzbR2sz4Pmqnou6WlnnrW2A10R_66dNsdaqzBVouaKnFWOj6oONS-eJL_5ARPkCC_8SErtlmv706AvKxnPeQqe7zbfwI/s4032/20240310_104348.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSusWfJ8wEc6pmjrS6ezIZGTt0u0RBICKkuWJXX8T6ZKQbMa1NhF33UXDpbJ84woNAcF5lXrDedmrnE7VZIDu-vyjfci2h6YeGzbR2sz4Pmqnou6WlnnrW2A10R_66dNsdaqzBVouaKnFWOj6oONS-eJL_5ARPkCC_8SErtlmv706AvKxnPeQqe7zbfwI/w300-h400/20240310_104348.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I seem to be managing the 16ct Aida better than linen for my eyes, thankfully. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I have done some more of Jennifer's stitchery design but got a little sidetracked doing the crosstitch. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNglxTynSFssYfn58ric55KtcqeunXzCcYc4h-9o5XVu2PNrrfkB8OUYojJRxrOqAv154RvrUvltm52UTD9FUJkzyFQ0xGhoi_kKg456UOrw6ePyzqvSLXnO_Sp7ZVfK1UzCj7SHOsE5naROouhFl6VET3vvgHFNOsULPYjJmHqubip6afBEpAEECfwg0/s4032/20240310_104406.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNglxTynSFssYfn58ric55KtcqeunXzCcYc4h-9o5XVu2PNrrfkB8OUYojJRxrOqAv154RvrUvltm52UTD9FUJkzyFQ0xGhoi_kKg456UOrw6ePyzqvSLXnO_Sp7ZVfK1UzCj7SHOsE5naROouhFl6VET3vvgHFNOsULPYjJmHqubip6afBEpAEECfwg0/w300-h400/20240310_104406.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">So, slow progress but better some than none. </span></div><br /><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p>Ondreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15397162777493230125noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795834902476788681.post-34128143817569093102024-02-20T16:02:00.001+11:002024-02-20T16:02:36.486+11:00A LITTLE ENTHUSIASM <p> </p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Finally, a little enthusiasm has returned. Now, that was a good year! I travelled with my youngest daughter for a month and later that year we had my eldest daughter 's wedding. Such fond memories. Anyhoo, in this bag I found a crosstitch bookmark kit I bought at Stonehenge. Nothing like taking over 8 years to rediscover it ! So, at long last, I started it. It is not good on the eyes but I am persevering. The instructions say to use 3 strands of thread throughout most of the crosstitch but I am using 2 strands after not being happy with the border......that shall be unpicked and redone after I finish the rest,</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"> Progress so far, don't look too close lol.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPRQYHDJCGxyfcsKvuX5IVvsw7PT0frfgDb1-3XB6atctPa9sninHbH_tb1wcP8mOfRbWX8uK2lNvjfeXDA6AzzG7dVDtX80vhlcmYnacHlrbUPiTmOlS5QJ7aJVFLt6oOHTqvUTSxCwfqLfdhWLXccigkUZ3B9UGobxa7qL-FjqP5-CwC_9-5_NZpn4g/s4032/20240102_123142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPRQYHDJCGxyfcsKvuX5IVvsw7PT0frfgDb1-3XB6atctPa9sninHbH_tb1wcP8mOfRbWX8uK2lNvjfeXDA6AzzG7dVDtX80vhlcmYnacHlrbUPiTmOlS5QJ7aJVFLt6oOHTqvUTSxCwfqLfdhWLXccigkUZ3B9UGobxa7qL-FjqP5-CwC_9-5_NZpn4g/w300-h400/20240102_123142.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I have crocheted more flowers.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrnQVUlaZuM9yZWxtMEyTjE4eCJYK5OArlvu_MGQtESi4sSeMtrBZT0M-kutrMM71XcUWmApql7ESM_B26l4xOHCA0KOPG4PPaaEnc8VdViPCERE8fK76NxkrVXqxFaJqtCxD9hmS6XTK_-lqHxHZ3qVjOAPhf2L1LVtIhnvZpMBJWp3RBKDQzQvxyKs4/s4032/20240102_124728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrnQVUlaZuM9yZWxtMEyTjE4eCJYK5OArlvu_MGQtESi4sSeMtrBZT0M-kutrMM71XcUWmApql7ESM_B26l4xOHCA0KOPG4PPaaEnc8VdViPCERE8fK76NxkrVXqxFaJqtCxD9hmS6XTK_-lqHxHZ3qVjOAPhf2L1LVtIhnvZpMBJWp3RBKDQzQvxyKs4/w300-h400/20240102_124728.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"> Cleaning up my craft room, finishing quilts then winding down from patchwork and quilting is my goal this year. I have noone to give quilts to and I can't machine quilt . I may be able to contribute with blocks for charity quilts this year instead. Now that I have rediscovered crosstitch from completing my decades old unfinished ones last year , I have been inspired to do more . I still love embroidery so I plan to still do some of that too. Smaller hobbies, less storage required. That is my aim. Let's see what actually happens. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p>Ondreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15397162777493230125noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795834902476788681.post-47654741442152530272023-12-17T14:46:00.002+11:002023-12-17T14:46:27.874+11:00SUNNY DAY<div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">A pleasant sunny day without humidity is a nice change here today. I have been quite vigilant from the beginning and still wear a mask in the supermarket if there are a lot of people around me. However, I caught it from my daughter and grandsons . Even though they have had it before I managed to dodge it back then having not been around them at the contageous time. So hubby and I both got it this time. I had no runny nose or cough, just a sore throat one afternoon then by that night I had a shocking migraine and was very nauseous. I couldn't keep a sip of water down so I couldn't take any pain killers. To top it off I collapsed on my bedroom floor rug and woke up confused as to why my face felt scratchy lol. The next day my daughter had to come over to assist despite having Covid herself and an ambulance was called because I was dehydrated and my head was exploding. After giving me some sublingual anti nausea medication things improved but I face planted on the bathroom floor the following night and woke up with my nose bleeding everwhere. Judging by how sore my nose felt the next few days I think I had fallen on my nose. So, once again, not much craft has been done the past few weeks but I did open that yummy pack of yarn and I have started the project I bought it for.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaL12ytOgJgXx-4fUsUuy2DjOigvnr-_gbCQ072j45WsHDzwh0tMFBboOTAWQQSWYEQayoJ-wn9eKs3Iv6HSlK4v6B9IMiPNuZMZGTKN1_Xxh_Uq-AmsCUX2hAC6HOZ_-2wqfnQEullM5ruZnyZGdGXnFXwh3ErgGSkBljXAxfMeWluzOHpNOfPoTD-pI/s4032/20231203_103948.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaL12ytOgJgXx-4fUsUuy2DjOigvnr-_gbCQ072j45WsHDzwh0tMFBboOTAWQQSWYEQayoJ-wn9eKs3Iv6HSlK4v6B9IMiPNuZMZGTKN1_Xxh_Uq-AmsCUX2hAC6HOZ_-2wqfnQEullM5ruZnyZGdGXnFXwh3ErgGSkBljXAxfMeWluzOHpNOfPoTD-pI/w300-h400/20231203_103948.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><p><br /></p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I have been enjoying this book series and finished book 3. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of some yummy cotton yarn from the UK to start another crochet project but I have not felt enthusiastic about starting any stitching project until I finish some UFOs. However, I do have a pic to show you. My youngest daughter, ( now 35), carves a pumpkin every year for Halloween. I am not into Halloween , infact the true meaning eludes most people and it is the wrong time of year here in the Southern Hemisphere. My daughter is very creative and each year she seems to outdo herself. This year she has done the Cheshire Cat from a darker game version. As usual, it is a Disney character.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiLHY266vDxXz5Telh0GdDgU_d0oEdaTGeDyyQsZp6kUVjPOWwI8uDCa8-ApkzjDUEjyrAkjXeaPWsewYK91T1-t2jMCvuJaM56wMz42Z9eaYHTm8Vg7l0YcoG6IwsQUa3FuRSZGO_GwlOuExBf0SQu_CvEUBeuWc4p8xqxI1I8q8CCD8WmC9RyfupQ-U/s480/image000000(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiLHY266vDxXz5Telh0GdDgU_d0oEdaTGeDyyQsZp6kUVjPOWwI8uDCa8-ApkzjDUEjyrAkjXeaPWsewYK91T1-t2jMCvuJaM56wMz42Z9eaYHTm8Vg7l0YcoG6IwsQUa3FuRSZGO_GwlOuExBf0SQu_CvEUBeuWc4p8xqxI1I8q8CCD8WmC9RyfupQ-U/w400-h400/image000000(2).jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">The one thing I have done is read another book. Ah well, I am told it is going to be a very hot summer so I guess there will be plenty of outdoor drying time coming up. </span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Happy stitching, knitting, crocheting and all things crafty.<br /><br /></span></p><p><br /></p>Ondreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15397162777493230125noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795834902476788681.post-17297691456246098782023-08-27T15:37:00.004+10:002023-08-27T15:37:54.596+10:00MORE OWLS<p> </p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">My crosstitch is growing but no progress on my table topper yet.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFjxejIEvO1dE__Oq3oyZ8FRqLxrr6ojPp9PKD81WWuSuaNbK5-KXTFXeaRo_NaA-e4Qz39pSi9AKN09Dlgh3p5rfruku6ebV2xrPhqXigB9KT3Zbq5njAkUB1DJBck6t5n_TSoPen49EMPkTVmq778kvNG9epsYBxmPzWX4HkiThDEkVottrvU_kiREU/s4032/20230827_140411.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFjxejIEvO1dE__Oq3oyZ8FRqLxrr6ojPp9PKD81WWuSuaNbK5-KXTFXeaRo_NaA-e4Qz39pSi9AKN09Dlgh3p5rfruku6ebV2xrPhqXigB9KT3Zbq5njAkUB1DJBck6t5n_TSoPen49EMPkTVmq778kvNG9epsYBxmPzWX4HkiThDEkVottrvU_kiREU/w300-h400/20230827_140411.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I haven't been reading as often as I used to due to so much turmoil in recent months but I finally found myself enjoying one of my favourite author's latest book. My last few posts have been all about crosstitches. I found another one hidden away during the week but at least it is finished. I used my own selection of colours judging by the pattern and I even made up the design on the 2nd heart. It seems I was quite confident with crosstitching back then in 2001. Maybe I will frame this one myself or add fabric around the borders to make a wall hanging. We shall see. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAcVp26NXJW2yoR7KZXL8rYCrl4wVV7N46C7TE7dKURgOzutBv319EvtrY-uGSCEGZYx3bfgJSXJXCWZzc2QvcGT3hiMldS65fUeLJ78wjd5wATvEpampMYSqDfvrjzJ_bV7elLrep4SDQThq7uqZs2ciF_GZZbi1_hAqJeqG37yGFBlr1fJE1aSp3wqw/s4032/20230813_110259.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAcVp26NXJW2yoR7KZXL8rYCrl4wVV7N46C7TE7dKURgOzutBv319EvtrY-uGSCEGZYx3bfgJSXJXCWZzc2QvcGT3hiMldS65fUeLJ78wjd5wATvEpampMYSqDfvrjzJ_bV7elLrep4SDQThq7uqZs2ciF_GZZbi1_hAqJeqG37yGFBlr1fJE1aSp3wqw/w300-h400/20230813_110259.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">My new crosstitch arrived on Friday . I ordered a kit with aida 14 count to get me back into crosstitching again aside from completing the ones I started decades ago. Despite not really being a fan of 14 count aida, I figured it would be easier on my eyes these days and I was correct. No magnifier required. I have had an ant infestation in my sewing room which has delayed my enthusiasm to cut fabric for borders and put my sewing machine back on the table. It was a major clean up, wipe down and vacuum while being bitten repeatedly by the pesky little critters and finding them inside my clothing!! The entry point outside my sewing room window has been dealt with but they are still coming back so I need to deal with it inside as well but I detest using poisons especially inside my home. A solution shall be found eventually . </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"> </span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Ondreahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15397162777493230125noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8795834902476788681.post-22899339244772821922023-08-06T11:58:00.005+10:002023-08-06T11:58:59.551+10:00FINISHED? AND A BIG THANKYOU<p> </p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Wow! The power of bloggers and the internet! On my last post I put a pic of another incomplete crosstitch, an alphabet sampler I had found that I started over 25 years ago. Unfortunately, I could not find the pattern with it, unlike the others I had found. So, I asked if anyone knew an avid crosstitcher who may recognise the designer. Well, I am so thrilled to say that wonderful Lou located the pattern for me via a facebook friend of hers who put a lot of time into finding it for me. THANKYOU Lou, you are an absolute treasure and so is your friend. It is a Pat Roger's design called " Ella's Sampler" and a link was also attached to a place I can purchase it. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Meanwhile, I finished that pesky crosstitch dress on the current project I am completing from decades ago. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUPaoqoeZDFY7LNj7pHKqTQk_LM2t7XAOIyoV4LYcecRI2Bp_597wENvaXmugmUUSfu2rEfhkBmDOOBkxz9CKraWIHFuVkjbkQF-rzzzuJ01lKu0J1SbmBBJiA0luvilu3NaoLDm6FCJHrk5NTUW0tg93c-Y0_7RNZdwO2kvXMMmEokPZGKpJ6ItwIE3M/s4032/20230805_172910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUPaoqoeZDFY7LNj7pHKqTQk_LM2t7XAOIyoV4LYcecRI2Bp_597wENvaXmugmUUSfu2rEfhkBmDOOBkxz9CKraWIHFuVkjbkQF-rzzzuJ01lKu0J1SbmBBJiA0luvilu3NaoLDm6FCJHrk5NTUW0tg93c-Y0_7RNZdwO2kvXMMmEokPZGKpJ6ItwIE3M/w300-h400/20230805_172910.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">After that most of my time was spent doing all the detail lines on the treadle table with single thread and then the swirls and brand name on the sewing machine. I found the other half of the basket I was looking for, except it was the bottom, not the top and it had another unfinished crosstitch in it. I love this crosstitch but, sadly, I don't think it shall ever be finished because I cannot find the pattern anywhere. If anyone knows an avid crosstitcher that could possibly identify the designer I might be able to search the internet for the original pattern. They say there is always hope. I really love the colours.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyvzhncJnPEEgk-NADM_hntOmbCY2P_Ddj8dAKMpX_sYutZYlib7wAc7hebqv6_oUt7M-D2EK4yVuNG6wiowFEdQ0oKcrhUmg3rZ-YRhGFR11_33viip3gXZ8lTV8zkl0nBQGX824rFJKz881oyjDrZv_fae0UDJogcDiSvrmw-ckkSywpuMnJ3RlZBBw/s3264/20230725_141920.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3264" data-original-width="2448" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyvzhncJnPEEgk-NADM_hntOmbCY2P_Ddj8dAKMpX_sYutZYlib7wAc7hebqv6_oUt7M-D2EK4yVuNG6wiowFEdQ0oKcrhUmg3rZ-YRhGFR11_33viip3gXZ8lTV8zkl0nBQGX824rFJKz881oyjDrZv_fae0UDJogcDiSvrmw-ckkSywpuMnJ3RlZBBw/w300-h400/20230725_141920.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Meanwhile I have tried to get back to this crosstitch and I am struggling to see properly stitching the little dress hanging up next to the cotton reels. I spotted JB Hi Fi and decided to replace my Pink Floyd ' Dark Side of the Moon' album that I gave to my daughter when she bought a turntable. I threw my turntable out when I could no longer find new needles to buy anywhere! Now the shop has turntables and records on sale again! Anyhoo, it is the album's 50th Anniversary this year but when I listen to it I am a teenager again. Anyone remember it? While searching for another particular crosstitch UFO I found my petite point I did when I was 19 years old. I distinctly remember stitching it when I first moved out of home in my shared flat ( never again...I lived on my own after that experience) . I still remember sitting on my bean bag in the lounge room quietly stitching. Could it be Marie Antoinette? Looking at it now I think it may be. It was stashed away for close to 50 years and travelled to many homes over the years. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhid7G3cqIzuIP4tgVhRBtpQTdvH2of3ouLeUZi4T13cyHj6QM39A3-jZFPfkU5rO2hNnxPmpSUjoUpGTAh_6CyjpZECei8BnSw4JkvUZqlnZe7xr4b7Duqtv3hkmxhQFRXWl1hplgjt2B8i3n_KWOzpap5w3XV0jqnykNRDbRuJUjj_ydSqRQZtE40Wvc/s4032/20230721_142208(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhid7G3cqIzuIP4tgVhRBtpQTdvH2of3ouLeUZi4T13cyHj6QM39A3-jZFPfkU5rO2hNnxPmpSUjoUpGTAh_6CyjpZECei8BnSw4JkvUZqlnZe7xr4b7Duqtv3hkmxhQFRXWl1hplgjt2B8i3n_KWOzpap5w3XV0jqnykNRDbRuJUjj_ydSqRQZtE40Wvc/w300-h400/20230721_142208(1).jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Then I found this! I was stitching it when my children were very young in our 2nd home. So it must have been started over 30 years ago! I found the pattern stored nicely but couldn't find the actual crosstitch until I rummaged around and found it in a plastic bag stored in my grandmother's old trunk. Whew! No idea why the pattern and project were separated during many moves. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVV6rbGT7lfgI_oRD644-7FPCXh0g5I2x0iS7tLIstIucGZyW5ijsImUIQo765pm41TJTUoi1gUx9KUWZe7OA_xEbGV2TUvtBAp5TEkr1c88rXdAiAd34i-yJv8VtREOQ2sXYgMNlvbe_Fo3ZOtZYaL3SwMaxrGKNk-L29O1c0qzNVn_GpjtnEAjRg5rA/s4032/20230721_142116(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVV6rbGT7lfgI_oRD644-7FPCXh0g5I2x0iS7tLIstIucGZyW5ijsImUIQo765pm41TJTUoi1gUx9KUWZe7OA_xEbGV2TUvtBAp5TEkr1c88rXdAiAd34i-yJv8VtREOQ2sXYgMNlvbe_Fo3ZOtZYaL3SwMaxrGKNk-L29O1c0qzNVn_GpjtnEAjRg5rA/w300-h400/20230721_142116(1).jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I located the crosstitch I was originally searching for in half a basket, ( it has a lid that I am yet to find), with all the threads and even the cards with the thread attached noting each symbol. It must be about 15 years old lol. However, I find myself pondering where to end edges. In my last post I was ready to stitch more rosettes on and proceeded to do so only to find I had not added the pairs of blue hexies so I had to unpull them. My stitches are very fine and it was quite a difficult thing to do without the fabric edges freying. So, here I finally am. I am thinking of needle turning the edge to the whole fabric instead of trying to fiddle with 4 separate border pieces like I am still trying to finish on my Little Lucy. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU7HsUSunFpk3AX759P9Q4zWx5uaa-VEz3HgO_1b8BzaJNLar7W-IW_8Ok6ulAFirSkk-boIPVjq8aUJuLmDvGLfMuwz1_BHGiRByPjY_tZLbhFElDAD1lz_1aGkCGVZJiZS8JfnkafVwCy47IV3spCl9wDYESp26LscMX1EI6uLxMQoJibKZXxcSCOSY/s4032/20230716_110428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU7HsUSunFpk3AX759P9Q4zWx5uaa-VEz3HgO_1b8BzaJNLar7W-IW_8Ok6ulAFirSkk-boIPVjq8aUJuLmDvGLfMuwz1_BHGiRByPjY_tZLbhFElDAD1lz_1aGkCGVZJiZS8JfnkafVwCy47IV3spCl9wDYESp26LscMX1EI6uLxMQoJibKZXxcSCOSY/w300-h400/20230716_110428.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">Backing and quilting will be my next decision. I just can't sit and be glued to the TV without doing something constructive unless I am unwell. I have plenty of UFOs to complete on the sewing machine but needed to find some hand stitching to do. I have a yearning to revisit crosstitching and finally found one of my unfinished crosstitches that must be at least 20 years old, maybe more. I need to remember how to do it again lol. I have the pattern sheet and the original threads still in a cigar box ready to go. The threads should still be okay as DMC were much better quality , in my opinion, back then. I am currently searching for another unfinished crosstitch I have stashed somewhere.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGug9XfD8nvsP3HEYY461C1qQn4KDFTjQLhmREdveiXd_auPvQ-aNUrnMx3exZ2m4Ijd4d7z5c99syapOHI3f3mRqgIHlNMcqelSyNMb3QOkwr8OaZC8dtnUl_OdzydUDS6qZs-6OxkgtFDEY1K-xrwcvjdfUWbNrRHiYYSv3ks1beJgQ_UamXZzTNgF4/s4032/20230702_141504.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGug9XfD8nvsP3HEYY461C1qQn4KDFTjQLhmREdveiXd_auPvQ-aNUrnMx3exZ2m4Ijd4d7z5c99syapOHI3f3mRqgIHlNMcqelSyNMb3QOkwr8OaZC8dtnUl_OdzydUDS6qZs-6OxkgtFDEY1K-xrwcvjdfUWbNrRHiYYSv3ks1beJgQ_UamXZzTNgF4/w300-h400/20230702_141504.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia; font-size: large;">I started doing tapestry 50 years ago then did a petite point which I still have somewhere.
