Colour really does create joy for me. I am also discovering new mediums to play with . The past couple of weeks I have had so much fun with ink brush pens. They are so lovely to use and just glide onto the page. I only have a limited choice of colours but it is still fun.
The pages seemed a bit flat so I used some gel pens to add some texture with dots and lines etc. Whatever took my fancy.
I am not putting any pressure on myself and have taken a leaf out of my grandsons' book....learning while playing. I am teaching myself how brushes, pencils, pens etc work in different ways. I am learning how colours work or don't work together. For my recent birthday I bought myself some Derwent Inktense pencils I have been eyeing off for some time using some birthday money I was given. This afternoon I tried them out for the first time in my best colouring book after swatching them yesterday.
Loving seeing what you are up to Ondrea - definitely lots of colour! I like what you did with the Inktense - they are gorgeous aren't they! There will always be another colour you will need but they do mix beautifully. The blocks are nice to have too as you can use them like watercolour paint blocks or draw/shade with them dry and then wet them. Have fun. xx
ReplyDeleteYou're having fun with your new found hobby. Enjoy the ride and don't worry about what others think. My daughter loves to try out new pencils and pens. She has a huge collection, yours will grow.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours. I have read the Inktense ones being used on fabrics .... are they the same?

Your drawing is wonderful Ondrea, always good to come to your blog and see what you are up to, and what you have been reading. There is a queue of 14 for that book at the Geelong library, must be a good one.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are enjoying your new craft and I am enjoying see it.
