ANOTHER CROSSTITCH

Now that 2 of my crosstitches have been framed I have started a small one of Pikachu for my youngest grandson. I did another Pokemon character for his big brother so now he will have one too. His bedroom has recently been repainted and he has a new bunk bed so it is good timing.

Not much other craftiness has been happening apart from some failed practice watercolour techniques I am trying to master. However, I have finished reading a great novel which is one of the best books I have read in ages. It is witty, quirky, and an absolute joy from start to finish. If you are a baby boomer or older you will most likely appreciate the main character's frustrations being a woman in a man's world during the 1960's.

                                          Happy crafting.

FINALLY FRAMED

My latest 2 crosstitches have finally been framed. I think I did a better job this time using the lacing method but I did find it a bit difficult to line up everything and keep it straight. The results are not too bad.

I was very excited when my new set of watercolours arrived on Friday. These are better quality than the ones I have been playing with and came with a black pen, brush and pencil as well as a few bookmark sized pieces of watercolour paper. Just perfect for my current newbie needs.

I couldn't wait to do the swatch card to see how lovely the colours really are. I shall do another swatch on my own  paper to get a better idea how each colour looks more blended from dark to light.

Earlier last week Darth Vader came to spend the day with us. He sure eats and giggles a lot.

Finding joy in a new hobby, finishing projects, and time spent with my youngest grandson are positive aspects of the past week . Some of the week was a challenge pain-wise but it was good to reflect on the days that were better.

Which leads me to ask you ....what were the best things about your week?

CROSSTITCH DONE

This afternoon I decided to pick up my crosstitch and finish it. I had already started the border so it didn't take long to make that final stitch. Yey! Now I have quite a few crosstitches to frame. Let's see how long it takes me to get them done lol.

I was in my craft room earlier today trying to finish a black and white geometric drawing I have been doing for the past week. I find drawing and painting to be very peaceful and calming. Unfortunately, once again, the neighbourhood intervened with demolition works happening again. Weekends are no different to any other day . Hence, my concentration disappeared along with the peace I was experiencing.  The good thing? I finished the crosstitch!
